The CanGolf service provides golfers with a unique opportunity to book several courses simultaneously and receive a real time confirmation of the tee times.
CanGolf courses offer more than a simple tee time service. Each course offers a day membership option that will showcase the character of the club as well as present the opportunity to play the course.
Whether you are planning a weekend trip , or intend to spend longer in the Canterbury region you'll be able to see which courses are available and make your travel plans in real time. For groups greater than four golfers we ask that you contact us with your preferred date and we will then work with the club to accomodate your group.
The club is one of the oldest golf clubs outside the United Kingdom and Ireland. The club has held numerous New Zealand Open and Amateur, Men’s and Women’s Championships.
The course is renowned world-wide as a challenging championship course of the highest quality which offers a fair test of golf for both club and professional golfer.
The Club Patron is former Club Champion Sir Bob Charles, New Zealand’s most successful professional golfer, best known for winning the 1963 Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

In the 1960’s and 70’s the Wills Masters and Garden City Classic professional tournaments were hosted at Russley on 12 occasions. Players including Peter Thomson, Kel Nagle and Bob Charles were regular competitors. Other famous names who played Russley at that time were the three Toms, Watson, Weiskopf and Kite. In 1985 the NZ Open was held at Russley, won by Corey Pavin and in 1990 the Women’s World Amateur Team Championships (the Espirito Santo) was hosted here. Russley continues to host prestigious national events, the most recent being the New Zealand Amateur Championships in 2011.
